Seasonal Fire Watch Pilot
Thunderbird Aviation's Aerial Services Team has been contracted to conduct Firewatch flights for the State of Minnesota. The company is currently recruiting pilots to provide aerial detection to identify and communicate the location of wildfires to officials with the Department of Natural Resources. This is a seasonal position with operations beginning April 30, 2008 and concluding June 20, 2008.Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform aerial detection flights with a Minnesota DNR officer to
detect and communicate the location of wildfires.
Minimum Qualifications
Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating
Second Class Medical
500 Hours Total Time
Domiciles
Eden Prairie, MN (KFCM)
Pilots receive $12.00/flight hour and receive a minimum of $50.00 for any day called for service. Pilots receive their daily rate even if they do not fly. Firewatch crews typically average eight flight hours a day.
